First, that closing door: the Summer Living 2026 Exhibition closes this coming Thursday, September 10th. If you haven't been and voted for your personal favorite yet - or, Hey, you want to cast another vote! - there are just a few more days! Bring a friend, the more the merrier! Stop in soon.

Buyers, the waiting is nearly over! You can come and pick up your new artwork anytime between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm on Thursday, September 10th. If you can't make it then, we'll be happy to make an appointment for you to stop in at another time, just email us at info@robesonartguild.org.

Artists, the closing on Thursday is also your signal to come and pick up your beautiful pieces.

Those Other Doors
A couple of those other doors rapidly approaching are the opening of the Community Scenes / Fall Into Winter Show, the Fall Class Schedule, and the new Kiln Services now available at the Guild House.
|
Fall Into Winter, with the Second Annual Community Scenes Award, opens Thursday evening, September 24th. Should be a lovely evening - Champ Saint-Amant will be there to fill the air with music! Mark your calendar to join us and help congratulate the winners - and see how you want to cast your votes for the new exhibits!

- Artists: Online Entries for Fall Into Winter are open NOW! Intake for the show will be Tuesday, September 15, between 11:00 am and 4:00 pm. Contact Carole if you need to schedule another time.
The Fall Class Schedule is firming up right now; here are some highlights:

- Nanette Zeller will be back in October with another Indigo Dye Class and a new felted wool class later in the year. With patterns small wallets and eyeglasses cases - personally, I'm thinking, "maybe a phone case???" - we'll see!
- Jill Vickers will be back with several classes, too, including a very special one New one to make some wonderful Holiday Cards and another on Artist Trading Cards (ATC) and how trading sets works.
- Jim Tripp is planning more pottery classes after the success of the Playing in the Mud one just held. See the note below about the new Kiln Services available at the Guild House.
We have had requests for classes on architectural drawing, urban sketching, and on garden design. If you have any classes you would like to see offered, please let us know when you come to the Guild House, add a comment to this post, or send an email to info@robesonartguild.org.

New: Kiln Services
The 2 kilns in the kiln room behind the Guild House are both up and running and, in addition to Jim Tripp's class students, both are now available for batch firing for local potters, by appointment only. Pieces to be fired can be dropped off and fired once they are completely dry and the kilns can be filled safely.
|
The cost per piece is by cubic inch, determined by the longest measurement, dimension, or diameter of the piece, and the firing type, plus any supplies. Clay work typically must be fired twice. All loading and unloading of the kilns will be done by Jim Tripp or his qualified assistant. On request, Jim may agree to you or your designee participating, but only on a supervised basis. As noted on the inquiry form, please gather the following information about the clay and glaze before you call for information or come in with your pieces:

- Clay body manufacturer
- Clay body name
- Clay body firing cone
- How long ago was the piece created?
- Glaze manufacturer
- Glaze series, color name, and item number
- Glaze firing cone range
- How many coats of each glaze is applied?
Kilns are highly technical equipment and reach very high temperatures - the process can be dangerous. Be prepared to answer questions about your pieces, as we will NOT agree to using the kilns unless we are assured that the work can be fired safely.

**Damages to kiln and kiln shelves due to melting glaze or other materials incur additional fees. **
Call or stop in to discuss your project. We'll be happy to help plan the best approach for your pieces. Charges are based on the cubic size needed, plus any needed supplies. Jim Tripp will be happy to go over the details.

The 2026 Quarterly Members Meetings are scheduled for the 4th Thursday of the ending month each quarter: September 24, and December 17, 2026.
