Entries are Open for Spring Festival 2026 – And Don’t Skip the Special Announcement!
CALL FOR ENTRIES: The Robeson Art Guild (RAG) is accepting entries for the Spring Festival 2026 Exhibition on Tuesday, March 10th, at RAG (109 W 9th St., Lumberton), from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM each day. Check below for the details on the exhibition and for a new opportunity being launched with this Call.

The theme for Spring Festival 2026 is Spring, that beautiful time of year here in North Carolina, full of sunshine, flowers, and, well, changeable weather. All in all, 2026 is shaping up to be even more eventful than usual!
Artists, if you have something you did for recent local events such as the Rumba on the Lumber that you would like to share, bring it in! We are looking forward to seeing how each artist interprets the season and how you plan to express your own take on our beautiful state.
Check the Prospectus for full details and requirements: Call for Entries: Spring Festival 2026 Prospectus
The Spring Festival 2026 Exhibition awards will be presented at the Opening Reception on Thursday, March 19th.
Special Announcement!
We are excited to announce that Spring Festival 2026 entries will be considered for inclusion in a new endeavor for the Art Guild this year: launching small, select exhibits around Robeson County so those outside the Lumberton area can share in the rich artwork created by local artists. The first event will be in Lumberton, close to the Guild House to help work out any kinks and help ensure that future events further afield go as smoothly as possible.
Our first official off-site exhibition will be as part of Oeuvre D’Art en Exposition: An Afternoon of Art and Music at Trinity Episcopal Church on May 16, 2026. Musician and composer Mark Andersen is premiering a new suite for piano at the event – what a true blessing to be able to enjoy the interplay of original local art and music.

Mark is a Robeson County native and a great supporter of the Arts, locally and beyond. Thank you for including us in this special event!
There will be refreshments in the Parish Hall following the musical presentation.Â
We will be publishing more information soon but put the date on your calendars now – that’s Saturday, May 16, from 1 pm to 4 pm.

New Year Celebration 2026 Awards! Better Late Than Never!
We are running a bit late right now due to some technical issues caused by malware – not pretty. Thankfully, that seems to be fixed, but a mole keeps sticking its head up occasionally, so please let us know if you notice anything, well, weird. Now, on to the update!
The New Year Celebration 2026 Exhibition opened a few days late due to the cold weather. There are some very nice new pieces celebrating the 250th Anniversary of the United States AND helping mark our own anniversary milestone! The Robeson Art Guild turns FIVE this year! Be sure to stop in and see these new works for yourself next week, before the exhibition closes on Thursday, March 5th.
James Bass, Ed.D, was the judge for the exhibition. Jim is a professional with a rich history of experience at UNCP, where he is the Executive Director of the Givens Performing Art Center. We are delighted that he agreed to judge another exhibition for us!
Jim selected first, second, third and fourth place awards from the entries. The exhibit include artwork from some familiar names (Bobbie Britt had a great day!) and from some newer names in the area!

While you are, take a moment and check out the great paintings in the new exhibition, New Year Celebration 2026! This exhibition runs through March 5th. Below are the winners, a nice mix of familiar local artists and newer members who are bringing in new perspectives! Lots of bright, energizing new artworks to welcome in the New Year! All are lovely! We do our best with the photos, but they will never capture the true beauty of the originals! See you at the Art Guild soon!

By the way, the link to the online auction site with BetterWorld will be posted this weekend.

Time for some Good News!!!
Yesterday you may have seen the sad (so sad!) news that we were having technical problems with the Robeson Art Guild website. Even though the website looked normal to visitors and was handling even the e-commerce sections correctly, those issues were impacting our ability to get emails composed and delivered, which was bad . . . some of you were starting to wonder why we were suddenly so quiet.
Honest, some people like getting emails from us.
Yippee!! The technical issues are fixed!

We are blessed indeed with good partners in our host support team and systems providers, so confidence is high and as of today everything is working again!! We plan to send you a nice newsy email later today.
OK, I’m knocking on wood here, but that’s just me . . . but do let me know if you notice something or have any questions. It takes a village, etc., etc.
Check out the button at the top of the page to see the full 2026 Planning Calendar for the planned events for this year. Oh, and if you need to make some changes to which emails you do get from us, check out the options available to manage your account. The options are at the bottom of each email.
Thanks for your patience – and the encouragement we received. All of our team here are volunteers, so everyone is donating their time and energy to keep things going. You may not realize just how encouraging it is to have you recognize their efforts, especially when things get a bit rocky. Thank you!
We’re Planning for the 2026 Quarterly Meetings!

And a heartfelt and belated Thank you to all the hardy volunteers who help with intake and setup for exhibitions, events, and classes! We could not survive without you! Thank you!
Thank you Everyone! 2025 was a great year and 2026, well, that will be even better!
