It has been a bit of a rocky start to 2025 due to the cold snap, but we are open again starting Tuesday, January 28 for intake for our first exhibition of the year!

CALL FOR ENTRIES: The Robeson Art Guild (RAG) is accepting entries for the New Year Celebration Exhibition on Tuesday January 28 at RAG (109 W 9th St., Lumberton), from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

The theme for the New Year Celebration Exhibition is the New Year and is the opportunity for each artist to share their inspiration for the year. Perhaps that inspiration is the opportunity for resolutions, new beginnings, or simply the imminent arrival of Valentine's Day and shared moments. Anything that celebrates the promise of a New Year, being good to ourselves and those we love, and helps to raise spirits after the long winter is welcome.

The Exhibition opens Thursday, February 6 with a reception at the Guild House. Join us at 6:30 pm for a warm evening with good company, music, and lovely art.

The Exhibition runs through Thursday, March 6, 2025.

- Submissions Due: Tuesday, January 28, 2025. Entries are due and received at RAG (109 W 9th St., Lumberton), between 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
- Opening Reception: Thursday, February 6, 2025, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.
- Exhibit Ends: Thursday, March 6, 2025
- First Place: $200
- Second Place $150
- Third Place $50
- Honorable Mention Ribbons
FEES: The online entry fee for members is $10 per piece and $15 per piece for non-members. All sales require a 20% commission to the Guild. Fees are subject to change at any time, without notice, at the sole discretion of the Robeson Art Guild.

Painting Group
We were so sorry to have to delay the painting group last week. Hopefully you will be able to stop by on Wednesday, January 29th between 2 pm to 4 pm. We will be in the big room down the hallway. If you can't come, that's fine, we'll plan to do this weekly on Wednesday afternoons and see how that schedule works for everyone.

By the way, if you haven’t heard about the painting group, it is very informal at this point, formed as the initial response to requests for an opportunity for artists to work on our own projects, to share ideas and ask questions of each other more informally than in a class setting. There is no sign up needed and no charge. Just stop by and bring a project to work on. If you haven’t got something you can bring, we may be able help. We’d love to see you!

Upcoming Quarterly Meetings
Mark your calendars now and plan to attend the upcoming Quarterly Members Meetings in 2025. These regular meetings are scheduled for the 3rd Thursday of the ending month each quarter: March 20, June 19, September 18, and December 18, 2025. They are a great way to learn what is happening at the Art Guild, what is planned, and to share your ideas!
