Wet felting is an ancient and magical artform which utilizes fluffs of wool and water to create a dense fabric known as felt. In this workshop, Nanette will guide participants through the felting process to create colorful, one-of-a-kind, felted wool wallets. The wet-felting technique is easy, playful, and produces surprising original designs.

The resulting wallets make great keepers of spare change, earbuds (in-ear headphones), keys or other small treasures and are perfect for gift giving.
In this workshop, each participant will have the opportunity to create 2 wallets. All supplies and tools are included. Wooden button closures are included, but participants are welcome to bring 1-2 of their own decorative buttons (3/4" to 1” diameter).
Please bring 2 or 3 thick old bath towels. Optional: Bring an apron and vinyl (or latex) gloves to keep dry.

Meet Instructor Nanette Zeller
We are delighted to have Nanette Zeller come to Lumberton to instruct the Shibori Indigo-dyed Scarf class in May and a Felted Wool Wallets class in June. Nannette is a talented textile artist and a very talented instructor.

Nanette earned a master's degree in wildlife biology from NC State University. She found her artistic voice in 2005 when she combined her skills to create nature-inspired mixed media textile art. Heavily embellished with thread to create beautiful textures, her art has been displayed in both solo and group shows at local and national exhibits. In addition to numerous exhibit awards, Nanette is a 3-time recipient of the Artist Support Grant offered by the NC Arts Council. Before starting her quilting career, Nanette spent 10 years working as a free-lance technical editor for sewing and quilting book publishers.

Trinity Episcopal Church
Although the current Spring Festival Exhibition closes on May 7th, join us onon Saturday, May 16th, at Trinity Episcopal Church for a very special afternoon of art and original music composed and performed by Mark Andersen. This event is the first of what we hope will become a regular program for the Robeson Art Guild: short art exhibits at public venues around Robeson County. Many of the Art Guild artists and supporters live outside Lumberton. We are delighted to begin close to home and want to Thank Mark and the Trinity Episcopal Church community for welcoming us as part of their very special afternoon.
