Call for Entries: Spring Festival 2026 Exhibition AND a Special Opportunity!

March 19 - May 7, 2026

CALL FOR ENTRIES: The Robeson Art Guild (RAG) is accepting entries for the Spring Festival 2026 Exhibition on Tuesday, March 10th, at RAG (109 W 9th St., Lumberton), from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM each day. Check below for the details on the exhibition and for a new opportunity being launched with this Call.

The theme for Spring Festival 2026 is Spring, that beautiful time of year here in North Carolina, full of sunshine, flowers, and, well, changeable weather. All in all, 2026 is shaping up to be even more eventful than usual! If you have something you did for recent local events such as the Rumba on the Lumber that you would like to share, bring it in! We are looking forward to seeing how each artist interprets the season and how you plan to express your own take on our beautiful state.

The Spring Festival 2026 Exhibition awards will be presented at the Opening Reception on Thursday, March 19th.

Special Announcement!

Your Spring Festival entries will be considered for inclusion in one of the major new endeavors for the Art Guild this year: launching small, select exhibits around Robeson County so those outside the Lumberton area can share in the rich local art you create. The first event will be local, to give us an opportunity to work out any kinks - and help ensure that those further afield go as smoothly as possible.

The first external exhibition will be as part of Oeuvre D'Art en Exposition: An Afternoon of Art and Music planned for Saturday, May 16th, at Trinity Episcopal Church. The wonderful musician and composer Mark Andersen is premiering a new suite for piano at the event, so we can enjoy the interplay of truly original local art and music, followed by refreshments in the Parish Hall. We will be publishing more information soon but put the date on your calendars now - that's Saturday, May 16, from 1 pm to 4 pm.

Coming Soon - Community Exhibits!

Based on feedback we received from members last year, the Robeson Art Guild has been planning to arrange short-term art exhibits around Robeson County, to reach our neighbors who may not be able to come into Lumberton and see the artists' work at the Guild House. We are excited to see these plans grow from dream to reality, first with this local community event that highlights the interplay of music and the visual arts we love, and later further afield in and around Robeson County.

As noted in the Spring Festival Exhibition Call above, Mark Andersen is creating a new program of music to accompany the one-day exhibition at Trinity Episcopal Church on Saturday, May 16th. A selection of entries from the Spring Festival will be exhibited at the church with some sculptures and paintings from his personal collection. Mark your calendars! You won't want to miss this one-day opportunity! Trinity Church is located at 1202 N. Chestnut Street, Lumberton, NC 28358.

Watch this space for other opportunities to see some of the rich local arts that bloom around Robeson County. We love Lumberton and the warm reception we have here, the only thing better is to share what comes into the Guild - often from the local communities around the County in which the artists themselves live. Let us know if you have some suggestions for venues in your local communities that may be interested in hosting a short visit. Thanks in advance!

Upcoming Quarterly Meetings!

OK, here is the 2026 Quarterly Members Meetings schedule! These regular meetings are scheduled for the 4th Thursday of the ending month each quarter: March 26, June 25, September 24, and December 17, 2026. We're looking forward to a busy, fun New Year, our Fifth Anniversary year! Join us and let us know what you would like to see!

For those who noticed, this is a change from last year; hopefully they will work out a bit better for people. Thank you everyone! It seems 2026 is going to be, well, interesting! Keep in touch, even if you miss some of the meetings. Happy New Year!
