Jill Vickers has several new classes this October and November, perfect for gift giving or feeding your own soul. Most are scheduled for Saturday afternoons, but there is also a Friday evening session for the one on cards and tags.

Big creativity can happen in a very small space. In this playful workshop, participants will create a collection of Artist Trading Cards (ATCs)—miniature works of art measuring just 2.5″ x 3.5″. Using watercolor, colored pencils, and ink pens, students will explore ways to tell visual stories inspired Halloween!

There is something so charming about miniature houses, and fairy gardens in some case! Well, you could just buy a kit, but wouldn’t it be lovely to design and build your own, then embellish it to bring to life your own ideas. In this class Jill will introduce you to the process, design principals, and materials you need to capture your own idea. By the time the class is finished you will be on the way to creating your own special place and have a template to take home and continue this fascinating hobby.

Nanette Zeller is coming back to Lumberton on Saturday, October 24th! We are so excited to have her lead another class - and she has some exciting news! Since she was last here Nanette was at a Quilting Arts TV filming to share some of the techniques she uses in her beautiful textile art. Ok, now back to the class for the new felted cases. In addition to the lovely audio wallets covered in the last class, Nanette has designed a new, larger case perfect for glasses or sunglasses. She will guide participants through the felting process to create a colorful, one-of-a-kind, wallet to keep spare change, earbuds (in-ear headphones), keys or other small treasures - perfect for gift giving. Once comfortable with the process participants will then create a second item, either another wallet or the slightly larger eyeglass case.
