Jill Vickers, the great teacher who led the A Guided Journey in Mindful Art class in April, has agreed to lead FIVE new classes this summer. Some students prefer evening classes; other students prefer weekend classes. So... drumroll, please... we are offering each of the new classes on 2 different dates, one in the evening during the week, the other on a Saturday afternoon. Colored pencils are a versatile and approachable art medium that allows artists to create rich color, beautiful details, and realistic shading. In this guided workshop, participants will learn the fundamentals of colored pencil drawing, including:

- sketching and composition
- selecting colors for depth and realism
- blending multiple colors
- creating highlights and shadows
- building layers to create dimension and texture

Big creativity can happen in a very small space. In this playful workshop, you will create a collection of Artist Trading Cards (ATCs)—miniature works of art measuring just 2.5" x 3.5". Using watercolor, colored pencils, and ink pens, students will explore ways to tell visual stories inspired by the sights, memories, and simple pleasures of summer.
