Join Us for the Dedication of the Jim Tripp Kiln Room!
Join us at 5:30 pm on Thursday, October 9th, for the dedication of the new Pottery Kiln Room. We are proud to dedicate the new facility to Jim Tripp, Master Potter for the Robeson Art Guild. Such a great way to round out the evening after BBQ in the afternoon and before heading off to enjoy the Art Stroll!

Many of you know Jim from his years at RCC as a respected Pottery Instructor or from his tenure as pharmacist with Southeastern Hospital. We are truly honored by his years of dedicated community service in Robeson County and delighted to see this first step completed to the Pottery Studio at the Art Guild.
The new kiln was fired twice recently under Jim’s watchful eye, with artists Jeffery Geller and Irina Shin-Geller producing some brand new, creative pottery pieces.
Looks like they had fun doing it!
Watch for announcements of public availability of the new facility at the Robeson Art Guild.

The Fall Into Winter & Community Scenes Awards!
The Fall Into Winter 2025 Exhibition opened Thursday, September 25th with a great reception, with music by Champ Saint-Amand’s duo and our first Community Potluck. The exhibit is open through November 13, so if you weren’t able to make it to the reception, stop by and take a look for yourself – we need your votes for the People’s Choice Award!
Nineteen local artists entered artwork ranging from lovely paintings to beautiful beadwork, to stunning pottery pieces – with community and the seasons playing a prominent role! Judge Nila Chamberlain had her work cut out selecting the winners, including the special Community Scenes Award and four honorable mentions.
Nila, a true friend of the Robeson Art Guild, not only made very considered selections for her awards, but also provided thoughtful comments on all the entries. We were very fortunate to have her as judge for the Fall Into Winter exhibition! In her own work, Nila creates art works in multiple mediums and uses both representation and abstraction. She continues to experiment with incompatible materials pouring, layering, stamping and combining to create heavily textured shapes and patterns. She works in both two and three dimensions and often creates larger work (4’X3’ and larger). Until you can come by and see the originals, here are her award selections. All of the entries still available for sale will be posted on our auction site soon.

The Quarterly Members Meetings are a great way to learn what is happening at the Art Guild, what is planned, and to share your ideas!
A special Thank You for the volunteers who helped decorate for the holidays – and who help take the decorations down!
And a belated Thank you to the hardy volunteers who help with intake and setup for exhibitions, events, and classes! We could not survive without you! Thank you!
