CALL FOR ENTRIES: The Robeson Art Guild (RAG) is accepting entries for the Members Holiday Choice Exhibition, (choice in several different ways!) on Tuesday November 19 through December 3 at RAG (109 W 9th St., Lumberton), from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
The final exhibition of the year involves choice – in a couple of ways! First, the theme for the Members Holiday Choice Exhibition is each Member Artist’s personal selection, their choice of their own artwork to share with visitors over the Holiday Season! Second, the prizes will all be People’s Choice, based on the recognition our visitors select when they come in and view the array of art curated by the artists themselves! So, Everyone, make plans to stop by, have a look at the selection on display and vote for your favorites! The Exhibition opens to the public on Tuesday, December 3rd at 11 am. The reception will be on December 5th at 6 pm at the Guild House.
The Members’ Holiday Marketplace opens the same day, so there will be opportunities galore for finding unique Christmas gifts.
The Members Holiday Choice Exhibition awards will be presented at the Quarterly Members Meeting on December 19th. Mark that on your calendars, too. We will meet at the Guild House to share good news, present awards, and toast the Holidays and the coming New Year!
Important Dates:
- Submissions Due: Tuesday, November 19 thru December 3. Entries are due and received at RAG (109 W 9th St., Lumberton), between 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
- Opening Reception: Thursday, December 5, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM.
- Exhibit Ends: Thursday, December 19.
- Art Removal: Art must remain on exhibit through the run of the Exhibition. The date for art removal is Thursday, December 19, between 11 am and 4:00 PM or after the last Quarterly Members Meeting that evening, at RAG (109 W 9th St., Lumberton), or by appointment.
FEES: The online entry fee for members is $10 per piece – non-members are not eligible for this one. All sales will require a 20% commission to the Guild. Fees are subject to change at any time, without notice, at the sole discretion of the Robeson Art Guild.
SUBMISSION & REQUIREMENTS: Artists may submit up to three (3) entries for the Members Holiday Choice Exhibition.
- Artists must be members in good standing to enter. Artists may join and pay membership fees online by clicking this link.
- Artists are encouraged to enter their pieces online on the Robeson Art Guild website. Entry forms are available online now. The artworks must be delivered to the Robeson Art Guild House, 109 W. 9th Street, Lumberton, NC 28359, on Tuesday, November 19.
Click here to enter online. - Artists’ photographs of their works are encouraged. Photographs may be uploaded with an online entry or submitted by email. Please provide appropriate credit statements for each photograph.
- Artists are encouraged to provide an artist statement for each piece.
- Work may not weigh more than 40 lbs. nor be more than 5 feet in any direction.
- Each 2-dimensional work must have secure hanging devices to hang safely.
- Each 3-dimensional work must have a safe display device provided by the artist.
- Entries must be original work. There are no age restrictions for the artwork and works completed are part of classes are eligible for inclusion. If the work was created during or otherwise created with guidance, please note appropriate credit in your artist statement for the piece.
- All media, including fiber art, photography, photo montage and collage, are welcome.
ART REMOVAL: Please note that all art must be removed when the exhibition closes. If you are unable to pick up your artwork during the scheduled time, contact us to make alternate arrangements. Artwork which is not picked up and for which no alternate arrangement has have been made may be subject to additional fees and/or become the property of the Robeson Art Guild, Inc.
LIABILITY: All reasonable care will be given in the handling and display of the art accepted for exhibition and/or sale. The Robeson Art Guild, staff, sponsors, and/or volunteers assume no responsibility for loss of or damage to artwork.
RIGHTS & CONDITIONS: All art submissions are to be made at the Robeson Art Guild House at 109 West 9th Street, Lumberton, NC 28358, unless otherwise directed. The Robeson Art Guild at its sole discretion will select and transport pieces selected for display/exhibition at other Gallery location(s), if any. The artist grants the Robeson Art Guild permission to transport pieces selected for display/exhibition at other Gallery location(s), if any. The artist grants the Robeson Art Guild permission to transport and display any art and to photograph and reproduce any art for publicity and educational purposes. The Robeson Art Guild reserves the right to refuse, remove or reject any art, for any reason.
