Carol Gradwohl moved to Pinehurst in 2011. She has a degree in Medical Clinical Laboratory Technology. After a 35-year career working in the medical clinical laboratory industry she renewed her interest in painting. Carol has tried it all. Currently her mediums of choice are acrylics, mixed media and alcohol ink, but she also dabbles in watercolor, oil with cold wax and scratchboard.
In 2016 she joined The Artists League of the Sandhills located in Aberdeen. As an active member of the Artists League, Carol serves on the Board of Directors and teaches 2 different classes, a mixed media class and a CitraSolv art class. For 4 years she was the chairperson of the Education Committee.
Carol has won awards in acrylic painting, mixed media and scratchboard. Recently, at the June Exhibition at the Artists League she won 1st place in the mixed media category. Some of her artwork is displayed there in her studio. She likes to have fun and uses different techniques to mix things up which makes her wide variety of artwork very unique. Her creativity is uninhibited and limitless. You never know what she will think up next.
Carol is also a member of the Arts Council of Moore County and the Garden Club of the Sandhills. Another huge passion of Carol’s is rescuing retired racing greyhounds. She currently has 2 greyhounds but has rescued a total of 8 greyhounds in the past 25 years.
