The Spring Festival 2025 Opening Reception Thursday last was great! A steady stream of people over the evening, as the art aficionados of Lumberton and surrounds moved from one to the other of 2 – count ’em TWO- openings on the same night! I’m looking forward to seeing The Feast sometime soon myself. It sounds very interesting – and I always enjoy seeing new works of pottery by Jim Tripp and Laura Carter and photography by Joy McGugan, not to mention learning about other artists emerging in Robeson County.
The theme for Spring Festival was simply that . . . Spring, in all its glory, an ode to the promise of sparkling days, flowers blooming, and new life. Mixed media artist Carol Gradwohl had her work cut out for her! She selected 3 award winners and 3 Honorable Mentions from the 20 pieces accepted for the show. Stop by soon to see the lovely work of local artists.

Carol has been a member of the Artists League of the Sandhills in Aberdeen since 2016. She serves on their Board of Directors and maintains a regular schedule of classes there. Although she dabbles in watercolor, oil with cold wax, and scratchboard, her main work currently is with acrylics, mixed media, and alcohol ink. Our diverse group of artists were a good match with her interests.
The Spring Festival will be open to the public through May 8th on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 am to 4 pm. We will also be happy to arrange private tours at no cost or reserve the Guild House for a private party or class for a small fee, just contact us by email at info@robesonartguild.org for more information and to make arrangements.
See you soon!
